TextToSpeach.ai is an independent review site for AI text-to-speech and voice tools. Every tool we recommend has been tested with real client scripts — audiobooks, podcast intros, e-learning narration, YouTube voiceovers — not marketing demos.
Who we are
Our lead reviewer, Sarah Chen, has spent eight years narrating audiobooks and producing branded podcasts. She tests every voice tool the way a working producer would — long-form scripts, tricky pronunciations, emotional range, and how quickly a client would notice it's synthetic.
She's supported by a small team of freelance audio engineers and a full-time editor who fact-checks pricing, feature claims, and API limits before anything ships.
How we stay independent
- • We pay for every subscription ourselves — no free "reviewer" accounts.
- • We refuse gifted content, sponsored posts, and paid placements.
- • Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes our ranking — our verdict is set before we check whether a program exists.
- • We publish our test scripts and audio samples publicly. If a tool sounds different on their homepage than on ours, that's a data point.
What we won't do
- • Recycle a vendor's marketing copy as a "review".
- • Rank a tool higher because its affiliate payout is bigger.
- • Hide known bugs, waitlists, or pricing gotchas.
- • Recommend a tool we haven't personally recorded at least 30 minutes of audio with.
